Job summary

Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. is seeking a Research Associate I in the Viral Oncology Section at the Frederick National Laboratory to perform pivotal roles in specimen handling, molecular testing, and data management for AIDS- and cancer-related program research.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, two years of lab work, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under SOPs and regulatory requirements, including cross-country studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant experience in Biology, Virology, Immunology, or related field.
• Minimum of two years of laboratory experience.
• Ability to follow SOPs, maintain accurate records, and meet time-sensitive testing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receive, accession, label, process, aliquot, store, retrieve, and ship human biospecimens.
• Process whole blood for plasma, PBMCs, and other specimens.
• Perform molecular, qPCR, serologic, and cell-based assays per SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain complete laboratory records including logs, worksheets, and electronic databases.
• Monitor quality control, document deviations, and communicate issues to supervision.
