Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL is seeking a Research Associate 2 to join the Center for Antibody & Protein Engineering (CAPE). You will contribute to projects involving molecular cloning, protein expression and purification, and yeast surface display while supporting day-to-day lab management and ordering.

• Bachelor’s degree in science in biology, biochemistry, bioengineering or related field is required.
• 1 year of research experience required; familiarity with molecular biology/biochemistry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cloning recombinant DNA constructs including plasmid design, DNA preparation, transformation, and sequence verification.
• Maintaining cell cultures.
• Conduct yeast surface display experiments, including library handling, expression analysis, and selection assays.
• Express and purify proteins in bacterial, insect, and mammalian systems using standard biochemical techniques.
• Lab management duties such as equipment maintenance, generation of reagents, and purchase orders.
