Qualifications

Job description

Research Associate – Assay Development Russell Tobin is partnering with a leading life sciences organization to identify a Research Associate for an onsite opportunity near Tucson, AZ.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute experimental protocols with minimal supervision, including making observations, collecting data, and analyzing results.
  • Conduct research and development laboratory experiments to support assay development projects.
  • Prepare technical reports, experimental summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses.
  • Present experimental results and findings to project teams.
  • Maintain complete and accurate laboratory documentation in compliance with applicable quality requirements, including GMP, GLP, and Design Control.
  • Troubleshoot laboratory and experimental issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with team members by providing technical input and creative solutions to project planning.
  • Contribute ideas for process improvements and laboratory efficiency.
  • Assist in identifying and documenting potentially patentable inventions.
  • Train colleagues on laboratory procedures and techniques as needed.
  • Monitor work to ensure quality standards and continuous adherence to the Quality First Time principle.
  • Exercise sound judgment when selecting appropriate methods and techniques for complex laboratory problems.
  • Search and evaluate scientific literature to support experimental design and project activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a closely related scientific discipline.
  • 2-4 years of relevant post-college laboratory experience.
  • Hands-on experience with specialized wet laboratory techniques.
  • Proficiency with pipetting, balances, stir plates, solution preparation, and related laboratory techniques.
  • Experience designing, executing, documenting, and interpreting laboratory experiments.
  • Strong data analysis and quantitative skills.
  • Experience preparing technical reports, protocols, summaries, and presentations.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Coachable with a strong willingness and ability to learn new techniques and methodologies.
Additional Details:
  • Location model: Onsite - Tucson, AZ
    • Open to candidates that want to relocate to the Tucson, AZ area onown expense
  • Position Type: 12-month contract with potential to extend
  • Pay range approved: $25/hr - $27/hr depending on experience
