Job Qualifications

Education and Experience (Grade 9):

  • Required: Master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, proteomics, metabolomics, or a closely related field plus 2-5 years’ related experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with mass spectrometry and LC/MS workflows, including sample preparation, method execution and optimization, LC-MS data acquisition and analysis, instrument operation and troubleshooting, and interpretation of experimental results. Experience providing technical support or guidance to research projects and communicating analytical results to scientific collaborators is also required.
  • Knowledge of laboratory approaches and techniques in the areas of Proteins, Chemistry, and Biochemistry required.
  • And/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with small molecule or metabolite LC/MS analysis is strongly desired. Candidate must understand the distinct sample preparation, chromatographic, and acquisition requirements of peptide/protein vs metabolite workflows.
  • Strong computer skills with experience using software for the analysis of protein mass spectrometry data is strongly advantageous, specifically Spectromine, Spectronaut, Proteome Discoverer.
  • Experience working with proteins (i.e. Western Blots, BCAs, Purification, performing proteomic sample prep (e.g. Protifi S-Trap, In-solution digestion, Barocycler assisted-digestion, on-bead digestion, PreOmics etc.) is desirable.
