Job summary

The UNC Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders (CEED) in the Department of Psychiatry seeks a fixed-term Research Assistant Professor to lead an externally funded research program and publish in scholarly venues.

The role includes training PhD students and post-doctoral fellows, delivering lectures to medical students and trainees, mentoring junior investigators, and contributing to CEED’s research and training activities. A Ph.D. and/or M.D. with NC licensure or eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. (or equivalent) in a relevant field and must be licensed to practice in NC (or be license eligible).
• Experience in both research and treatment of eating disorders is required.
• Evidence of external funding at R-level or the equivalent is essential.
• Candidates must have a programmatic line of research as evidenced via scholarship and research productivity referenced on their CV.
• Prior history of teaching, supervising, or mentoring advanced trainees is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct externally funded research and publish in scholarly venues.
• Provide training and supervision to PhD students and post-doctoral fellows.
• Deliver lectures to medical students and trainees across psychology, psychiatry, pediatrics, and related disciplines.
• Mentor junior investigators and contribute to CEED Summer Research Fellow program.
• Engage in clinical duties related to assessments and treatment as needed in NC.
