Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders (UNC CEED) seeks a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry. The role centers on developing and leading an externally funded research program and mentoring trainees.

The successful candidate will teach medical students and residents, supervise research staff, and collaborate across clinical and translational CEED projects to advance eating disorder science.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. and/or M.D. in a relevant field and NC license or license-eligibility.
  • Experience in both research and treatment of eating disorders.
  • Evidence of external funding at R-level or the equivalent.
  • A programmatic line of research evidenced by scholarship and productivity.
  • Prior teaching, supervising, or mentoring advanced trainees is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an externally funded research program (K- or R-level or equivalent) and publish in appropriate venues.
  • Provide rich training and supervision for PhD students, post-doctoral fellows, and behavioral health trainees.
  • Deliver lectures to medical students and trainees across psychology, psychiatry, pediatrics and other specialties.
  • Contribute to the CEED's future vision and direction in eating disorders.
