Job summary

Hebrew SeniorLife is seeking a Research Assistant I to support data collection, data management, and annotation of clinical notes under PI supervision. The role involves systematic labeling of information per study guidelines and collaboration with investigators to ensure data accuracy and project progress.

The candidate should have a B.S. in a scientific field and 2–3 years of lab experience, with strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in a scientific discipline and 2-3 years of related laboratory experience.
• Professional, proactive, collaborative, conscientious and results-oriented with strong communication.
• High attention to detail and ability to apply standardized guidelines consistently.
• Ability to review narrative clinical documentation, extract relevant information, and seek clarification when needed.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical documentation preferred; study-specific training will be provided.
• Experience with data entry, databases, electronic health records, or annotation tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports research activities across assigned projects, including data collection and data entry.
• Reviews and annotates Hebrew SeniorLife clinical notes using study guidelines to identify information relevant to objectives.
• Completes annotation training and calibrations; refers ambiguous cases to supervisors.
• Performs quality assurance on annotations and research datasets; documents discrepancies and resolves disagreements.
• Maintains records of annotation decisions, procedures, and project progress.
• Assists with preparing protocols, reports, summaries, and analyses under supervision.
• Maintains familiarity with scientific literature related to projects.
• Protects patient confidentiality and follows protocols for data handling.
• Participates in team meetings and other duties as assigned.
