The Aging Well Lab in the Center for Vital Longevity at The University of Texas at Dallas, under the direction of Kendra Seaman, Ph.D., is currently seeking to hire a full-time Research Assistant I beginning in October to assist with a newly funded research project. The position requires a minimum one-year commitment (renewable).

Starting at $37,000.00 Dependent on Qualifications. Monthly. Regular full-time. Location: Dallas.

• Bachelor's degree in one of the basic sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience in customer service or in daily interactions in a public services environment.

Job Summary

The Aging Well Lab in the Center for Vital Longevity at The University of Texas at Dallas, under the direction of Kendra Seaman, Ph.D., is currently seeking to hire a full-time Research Assistant I beginning in October to assist with a newly funded research project. The position requires a minimum one-year commitment (renewable).

We are interested in what motivates people, how that influences their decisions, and how this may change across adulthood. We use a wide variety of behavioral, modeling, and neuroimaging techniques. Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in one of the basic sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience in customer service or in daily interactions in a public services environment.

Preferred Education and Experience

Preferred qualifications include a BA or BS in psychology, neuroscience, behavioral economics, data science, or a related field. Strong applicants from other fields may be considered. Experience with human subjects data collection, excellent organizational, time management, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills are required. Prior experience with experimental design, programming of behavioral tasks, and data analysis. Technical skills (e.g. Python, R, Unix) are also highly desired but not required. Prior experience managing teams and/or an interest in psychological and neurobiological changes across adulthood are also a plus.

Other Qualifications

To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for the Research Assistant will include (1) assisting with the design and implementation of online and in-person behavioral experiments, (2) recruitment and testing of human subjects, (3) coordinating and training research assistants, and (4) preprocessing and analysis of experimental data.
