Job summary

University of North Texas Health Fort Worth is seeking a Research Assistant to support a postdoctoral researcher on an NIH-funded project. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and strong lab skills. An MS degree is preferred to enhance opportunities for progression within the new PhD program.

The position involves independent lab work, data collection, manuscript preparation, and collaboration across a multidisciplinary team at the UNT System College of Pharmacy in Fort Worth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Master’s degree in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical procedures involved in execution of experiments (i.e. material synthesis, characterization, animal care / handling).
  • Execute experiments independently, collect data and keep records of experiments, and keep up-to-date with the most recent literature in the field of study.
  • Keep track of inventories of research materials.
  • Write manuscripts and prepare materials for scientific presentations.
