Advantage Technical is seeking an experienced R&D Technician to support hands-on prototyping and development of catheter-based medical devices. This role involves building and refining prototypes, conducting testing, and enabling verification and validation activities in a fast-paced engineering environment.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in regulated manufacturing, catheter experience, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Six+ years in medical device, biotechnology, or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience with catheter manufacturing or balloon catheter construction is desirable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a prototype development setting.
• Microscope experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build, modify, troubleshoot, and refine catheter-based prototypes.
• Conduct mechanical, dimensional, functional, and performance testing.
• Support design verification, test method validation, and process validation activities.
• Assist with prototype assembly processes including bonding, welding, crimping, coating, and balloon processing.
• Analyze test results and provide technical feedback to engineering teams.
• Support equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and laboratory operations.
• Participate in process improvements, tooling development, and engineering change activities.
• Maintain compliance with quality system requirements and documentation standards.
