Job description

THE ROLE: Research Analyst, Community Insights

Britebound is a national non‑profit with a mission to support middle and high school learners to explore their interests, experience potential careers, and navigate a path to a meaningful and rewarding future. We fulfill our mission through free digital‑first experiences, grantmaking, policy advocacy, research, and impact investing.

We believe that exploring career possibilities, as early as middle school, and providing access to education‑to‑career pathways aligned with one’s passions and goals will result in greater confidence and long‑term success for all students.

We are looking for a Research Analyst, Community Insights. This role will partner closely with the Research & Insights team and colleagues across Britebound on internal‑and external‑facing research, while owning the strategy and day‑to‑day effectiveness of our online research communities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Research & Data Analysis:
    • Ensure data integrity through data cleaning, validation, and preparation across diverse datasets; produce topline statistics, subgroup comparisons, and multivariate analyses that address key research questions.
    • Apply statistical methods such as regression analysis, clustering, significance testing, and driver analysis to uncover insights, explain variation in outcomes, and identify actionable findings.
    • Translate complex findings into clear charts, captions, visualizations, dashboards, reports, briefs, and presentations that are compelling and accessible to non‑technical audiences.
  • Online Research Community Management :
    • Manage Britebound’s three distinct online research communities (teens, parents, and counselors).
    • Engage with internal Britebound teams to design and conduct weekly research engagements to meet team needs. Synthesize and deliver findings on a quick‑turnaround cadence.
    • Design and program research engagements based on organizational needs for teen, parent, and counselor online communities.
    • Lead the launch and ongoing management of Britebound’s new counselor community, including recruitment, engagement, research programming, and continuous improvement of the member experience.
  • Online Community Strategy:
    • Develop and steward Britebound’s overarching strategy for online research communities, establishing consistent approaches to recruitment, retention, incentives, engagement, research cadence, governance, and insight sharing across audiences.
  • Help shape the Research & Insights team’s research agenda and analytical approaches; build strong cross‑functional relationships to identify shared research needs and advance data‑driven initiatives across Britebound.
  • Contribute to Research & Insights reports by activating Britebound’s online communities to source relevant qualitative feedback that adds depth and context to quantitative findings.
  • Propose and develop strategies for creating dashboards or other data visualizations that enable impactful use of findings from online research communities and other Britebound research projects.

About You:

  • 5-10 years of experience in research, polling, analytics, community‑based research, or a related role, with a proven track record of completing complex analyses, working with rich datasets, and developing clear data visualizations.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including experience with tools such as R, SQL, Python, STATA, SPSS, Dataiku, and/or comparable platforms; able to synthesize complex information and develop actionable insights.
  • Experience building, managing, or engaging online communities, panels, or research participant networks; skilled in recruitment, retention, incentive strategy, moderation, and translating member feedback into usable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn quantitative and qualitative findings into concise, audience‑appropriate stories and recommendations.
  • Able to connect the big picture to execution, manage multiple workstreams and deadlines, and proactively identify opportunities to improve research quality and business impact.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, resilient, results‑oriented, and comfortable engaging in constructive debate and incorporating diverse perspectives. Able to build trust and credibility across levels and functions.
