The role partners with internal teams and external providers to deliver accurate statements, manage treasury, and support tax compliance and audits while advancing controls and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience in a multi-entity nonprofit or corporate structure is preferred.
  • Experience with Form 990 and nonprofit tax would be a plus.
  • Proficient with accounting systems and advanced Excel

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close with third-party providers.
  • Prepare and review complex journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting for both nonprofit and for-profit aspects.
  • Assist FP&A to investigate variances and explain results.
  • Manage treasury activities and monitor cash across entities.

We are looking for a Senior Accountant. This position is responsible for leading critical aspects of the book close process, ensuring integrity of financial reporting, and driving continuous process improvement across Britebound’s growing multi-entity organization.

The Senior Accountant partners closely with various internal stakeholders and external accounting providers, auditors, tax advisors, and banking institutions. The ideal candidate combines technical accounting expertise with sound business acumen, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to continuous process improvement.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead key components of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, in collaboration with third-party accounting service providers and members of Finance team.
  • Prepare and review complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules while identifying and resolving accounting issues
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP (both for-profit and nonprofit accounting standards)
  • Partner with FP&A to investigate significant variances and explain financial results
  • Treasury Management
    • Manage day-to-day treasury activities, including wire transfers, ACH payments, and other banking transactions with appropriate controls
    • Maintain and manage banking relationships, including account setup, maintenance, and service optimization
    • Monitor and forecast cash balances across accounts and entities, ensuring adequate funding and efficient cash utilization
  • Tax Compliance
    • Partner with external tax advisors to prepare and review the organization’s Form 990 and related filings
    • Prepare supporting schedules, documentation, and analysis to support tax compliance requirements
    • Support compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including sales and use taxes
  • Audit & Compliance
    • Serve as a key accounting liaison with external auditors during the annual audit process
    • Prepare financial statements including footnote disclosures, audit schedules, supporting documentation, and respond to auditor inquiries
    • Support implementation of audit recommendations and the strengthening of internal controls
  • Subsidiary Support
    • Collaborate with accounting and finance teams across subsidiaries to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures
    • Support subsidiary accounting activities, including consolidations, transfer pricing, and financial/tax reporting
    • Support business combination, acquisition accounting, and post-acquisition integration
  • Research complex accounting and tax matters, prepare technical accounting memoranda, and document accounting conclusions in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Develop, document, and maintain accounting and treasury policies and procedures
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and governance standards
  • Continuously improve accounting processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy
About You:
  • 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience operating within a multi-entity organizational structure preferred
  • Background in nonprofit accounting and tax (Form 990) a plus
  • Familiarity with treasury management and cash controls a plus
  • Exposure to business combinations and consolidations a plus
  • Working knowledge of investment accounting a plus
  • Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Comfortable leveraging AI and other technology tools to drive efficiency
  • Able to translate numbers into a clear, compelling narrative
  • Demonstrates strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise
  • Brings sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exercises sound professional judgment and business acumen
  • Communicates and collaborates effectively across all levels
  • Detail-oriented with a highly organized approach to work
  • Thrives in a dynamic environment, managing competing priorities and deadlines with ease
Salary Range: $94,900 - $118,000
