Russell Investments is seeking an analyst for the Macro and Credit research team in Seattle to support manager research and investment strategies across fixed income, credit, and macro themes. You will gather data, run quantitative analyses, and help rank and sponsor ideas for client portfolios.
The role emphasizes relationship management, strong Python/SQL programming, and collaboration with senior analysts. Travel and time-zone coordination may be required in a global team.
Salary Range: $85,000 USD - $100,000 USD. Specific compensation will be based on candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, commercial considerations, and other job-related factors permitted by law. The Macro and Credit research team is responsible for rating and recommending investment strategies to both internal and external clients. Strategies range from the full spectrum of fixed income, credit, and macro strategies, both long only and in hedge fund format. The analyst position in the team will be responsible for working with senior analysts to assess third party investment managers. This entails developing relationships with third party asset managers, gathering the necessary data, utilizing quantitative analytical tools and identifying critical drivers of performance in such strategies. The analyst will be expected to eventually own manager ranks and sponsor ideas for client and Russell portfolios. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in a fixed income and ability to undertake qualitative and quantitative analysis of portfolios. Ideally, experience doing analysis of money managers and respective strategies in the fixed‑income universe would be an asset, and having the ability to suggest process improvements based off this knowledge is an asset. Detailed understanding of fixed income markets is necessary. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required as relationship management and client contact are core to the role. The successful candidate will have strong programming skills in Python and VBA. This position presents the opportunity to work with a small but experienced team and presents opportunities for future advancement into an investment role.
