The Office of Labor Relations (OLR) represents the Mayor in all labor relations between the City of New York and labor unions. The office negotiates collective bargaining agreements, administers employee benefits, and handles labor-management issues.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist in negotiations and administration of collective bargaining agreements, including attending sessions and taking notes.
  2. Research bargaining demands and serve as a contract specialist.
  3. Maintain electronic files of relevant negotiation information.
  4. Calculate wage and benefit costs for negotiations and related proceedings.
  5. Conduct salary and benefit surveys, analyze data, and prepare reports.
  6. Respond to inquiries from City agencies and other sources in a timely and accurate manner.
  7. Prepare special reports and studies as directed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree and two years of related community work experience, or
  • High school diploma and six years of related experience, or
  • Equivalent education/experience, with at least one year of relevant experience.
Additional Information

Eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness programs. NYC residency required within 90 days, with exceptions for certain city employees.

Salary Range

$60,889.00 – $94,521.00
