The Consumer and Media Insights (CMI) Operations team is responsible for the ongoing delivery of survey data to clients. The Nielsen Consumer survey provides a 360-degree view of the consumer, offering valuable insights into what people are buying, watching, and doing.

The Operations team, based in Bangalore, is seeking an enthusiastic, permanent new team member to join the hardworking, collaborative team.

The Day-to-day role of the Operations Data Specialist is crucial in impacting the quality of data provided to clients. They will work closely with key stakeholders in the Pacific survey process to ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely data delivery.

Skills and Experience
  • Our ideal candidate will have at least one of the following three skillsets:
  • Questionnaire / Survey Design & Development
  • Survey Programming & Fieldwork Management - Python, JavaScript, or XML
  • Data analysis using SQL - Minimum 2 years

The following skills and attributes are also highly recommended:

  • Demonstrated experience (3+ years) analyzing large datasets in a fast-paced environment; market research or related fields preferred
  • Understanding of survey methodologies including tracking studies
  • Proficient in developing and executing complex SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation
  • Experience in building data for data processing tools
  • Experience in data analysis and providing insights
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team within a global company
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational skills & the ability to juggle priorities
  • Confidence liaising with internal stakeholders
  • Enthusiasm for data analytics and problem-solving

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel / Google Sheets

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting technical data queries and assisting stakeholders
  • Identifying, explaining, and resolving complex data errors or issues
  • Understanding our questionnaires thoroughly
  • Adhering to project timelines and completing scheduled tasks
  • Ensuring new elements and questions are correctly integrated into databases
  • Implementing database changes and requests
  • Conducting data audits as per process
  • Maintaining data entitlements within client databases
  • Preparing and processing data efficiently and accurately
  • Completing all Quality Control checks within deadlines
  • Processing and delivering databases for new clients or special requests
  • Collaborating with the Pacific production team for smooth data delivery
  • Contributing to data quality and process improvements
  • Reporting daily tasks using reporting software
  • Training and coaching junior team members as needed
  • Working collaboratively with team and stakeholders
  • Improving questionnaire design through insights and recommendations
  • Ensuring questionnaire submissions meet client requirements
  • Testing and validating questionnaire modifications
  • Developing questionnaire changes using Python, JavaScript, and XML
  • Managing fieldwork quotas to meet targets
