Job Description

At Abercrombie & Fitch, the Customer Research Analyst is a remote role that serves as an in-house resource for brand and business partners. A key advocate for the customer, this role is accountable for the design and implementation of robust customer research to gather valuable insights on customer values, attitudes, and preferences. Close collaboration with cross-functional teams ensures that customer insights are effectively incorporated into brand strategies and business decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the fashion retail industry, exceptional analytical capabilities, as well as verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, a passion for delivering clear, compelling, data-driven, insights-rich narratives to inspire business action is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Executing primary research initiatives including writing briefs, programming surveys, moderating research engagements, synthesizing actions/recommendations, and delivering impactful reports.
  • Influencing business decisions based on customer insights from primary and secondary research.
  • Collaborating with analytics and insights teams to craft a comprehensive customer narrative for internal stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the evolution of the Customer Insights discipline, especially regarding new research technologies and techniques.
  • Additional tasks may include managing research communities, project management, recruiting, report cataloging, and brand health tracking.
Qualifications
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4-5 years in customer/marketing research or related roles.
  • 2+ years conducting primary quantitative and qualitative research using panels, survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, Alchemer), and MS Office tools.
  • Methodological expertise with a strong ability to tell cohesive, actionable stories.
  • Experience with advanced quantitative methods such as segmentation, Max/Diff, Conjoint, and longitudinal tracking; comfortable moderating qualitative sessions like focus groups and IDIs.
  • Proven ability to independently manage projects and collaborate across various organizational levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Deep empathy for customers and team goals.
  • Willingness to travel quarterly domestically.
  • Experience in retail/eCommerce preferred.
