Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, social sciences, statistics, computer science, data science, information science, or a related field.
• Experience with data collection in a higher education environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office products.
• Familiarity with data visualization techniques.
• Ability to work with large datasets, database systems, or enterprise data platforms.
• Experience with statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, or similar tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with business intelligence tools like Power BI, Tableau.
• Experience with Qualtrics or similar survey tools.
• Experience with IPEDS reporting.

Primary Responsibilities

Function: Support data reporting and analysis to ensure compliance and inform decision-making, utilizing tools like Argos, Power BI, SQL, and other platforms. Coordinate data submissions to THECB, IPEDS, and internal entities. Promote data integrity and accessibility, supporting strategic initiatives and fostering a data-informed culture.

Scope: Collaborate across departments, implement best practices in data governance, and support change management. Work closely with the Director of Institutional Research in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Assist with publishing reports and visualizations. Other duties as assigned. This role may be performed remotely but requires regular communication and potential travel to Sul Ross State University.

Office conditions are standard; hours are regular and exempt from overtime. The position is security sensitive and requires exercising caution and safe work habits.

Texas law mandates a 60-day waiting period before new state employees can enroll in health insurance.
