Colorado School of Mines seeks a Research Accounting Manager to lead the Research Accounting Team within the Office of Research Administration. Responsibilities include award setup, monitoring, reporting, and closeout for sponsored projects, with daily collaboration across campus and external sponsors.

The role requires a minimum of 7+ years in accounting, supervisory experience, and strong regulatory knowledge. On-campus presence is expected at Golden, CO three days weekly.

Formación

• 7+ years of accounting experience
• 2+ years of supervisory experience or lead role
• Working knowledge of federal and other pertinent external research regulations
• Strong data analytical skills using spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, and enterprise financial systems
• Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present financial information to broad audiences

Responsabilidades

• Lead and develop the Research Accounting Team with clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations
• Oversee award setup and modifications in the financial system and ORA’s project-tracking system
• Monitor and reconcile award budgets, expenses, and financial reporting
• Review cost transfers, salary redistributions and other accounting entries
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports using Workday, Tableau, or other data tools
• Ensure timely and accurate sponsor reports and closeout activities and provide staff training
