Requirements & Traceability Lead – Arlington, VA
The Requirements and Traceability Lead manages requirements engineering activities, ensuring full traceability from mission requirements through system implementation.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the PM and Chief Architect to manage government timelines and deliverables.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document requirements and existing processes.
- Develop requirements management environment and traceability processes to support informed architectural decisions.
- Establish and sustain an authoritative enterprise architecture baseline.
- Maintain requirements traceability matrices across systems and programs.
- Conduct technical exchanges with stakeholders to assess feasibility and identify best‑fit integration approaches aligned to approved architecture.
- Ensure alignment between requirements and system capabilities.
- Facilitate collaboration between technical teams and leadership.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 12 years of experience in requirements engineering or systems engineering.
- Experience with requirements management tools.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting DoD enterprise architecture, systems engineering, or digital modernization initiatives.
- Hands‑on experience with requirements management and traceability tools such as IBM DOORS, Jama, Jira, or Cameo.
- Familiarity with DoDAF, MBSE, systems integration, and requirements traceability across complex multi‑system environments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work on site 5 days a week.
- Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting.
- Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time‑related constraints in a fast‑paced contracting environment.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals.
- Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications and experienced working in a home office setting, including ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
- Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience strongly desired.
- Good problem‑solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it.
