Job summary

Planned Parenthood South Atlantic is seeking a Registered Nurse in Charlotte, NC for a part-time role (up to 20 hours/week) with specific Thursday and Friday shifts. The RN will support recovery room care, administer medications, provide patient education on reproductive health, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• RN license in NC or compact state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to prioritize and work independently as well as with a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in recovery room in accordance with PPSAT policies and all applicable regulations.
• Assist and monitor patients in recovery, including vitals, meds, aftercare instructions, and birth control information; report post abortion complications to provider.
• Educate clients on PPSAT services and community resources in a nonjudgmental manner.
• Provide education on reproductive and sexual health options including abortion and contraception.
• Stock recovery room with supplies and maintain logs.
• Prepare and administer medications per provider orders and log controlled substances.
• Maintain patient charts and logs with timely, accurate documentation.
• Participate in audits and quality assurance activities; attend staff meetings and drills.
• Assist during abortion and medical procedures; monitor vitals and complete required documentation.
• Monitor emergency cart inventory and equipment logs monthly; report concerns.
• Stay informed about PPSAT protocols, policies, and services.
