Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains is seeking a registered nurse to support abortion care in Colorado Springs. The role includes clinical triage, patient education, and follow-up, with emphasis on timely and empathetic patient support.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of nursing experience with sedation/ultrasound or abortion procedure assistance, strong communication skills, an active RN license, BLS, and ACLS.

Competenze

• RN license required and active
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• 1 year nursing experience with conscious sedation, ultrasound, or abortion-assistance experience
• Must be able to provide abortion care and work as part of a team
• IV therapy experience or IV certification preferred

Mansioni

• Assist physician with abortion procedures.
• Perform laboratory testing.
• Assist with emergency care.
• Screen client medical history.
• Provide information on procedure, aftercare and birth control.
• Document client encounters clearly and promptly.
• Initiate IV access.
• Ensure proper disposal of products of conception.
• Monitor clients receiving IV sedation.
• Monitor post-operative clients.
• Maintain emergency equipment integrity.
• Assist with medical assistants and follow-up appointments.
• Serve as a resource for non-medical staff.
• Administer and track controlled medications.
• Assist with OSHA/CLIA/Board of Pharmacy compliance.
• Support routine health center upkeep.
• Deliver excellent customer service to patients and staff.
