Job summary

The Tops shipping clerk role in Town of Lancaster, NY supports management during order selection shifts and focuses on efficient, accurate shipping processes. You will research shortages, coordinate pallets, release reselects, and handle shipment records while communicating issues to supervision.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or Equivalent, basic math and computer skills, and strong communication, organization and problem-solving abilities. Weekend availability is preferred.

The mission of all Tops associates is to adhere to the Tops vision of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves the customer time and money. A Shipping Clerk works with management during the order selection shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Researches problem locations in order to prevent product shortage
• Creates pallet moves to fill selection locations
• Releases created reselect assignments
• Communicates issues to supervision
• Verifies accuracy of load diagrams
• Prepare shipping documents prior to truck departure from warehouse
• Perform load close process to release the store order for shipment
• Coordinate truck departure with Dispatch
• Verify and retain shipment records containing routing details
• Responsible for order processing claims
• All other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Flexibility and willingness to work weekend is a must
  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
• Possess basic computer skills
• Possess strong communication skills, organization, adaptability and problem solving
• 1-year experience in a similar capacity
