Position Summary
The University of Georgia Libraries seeks an innovative, service-oriented individual for the position of Repository Services Librarian. This faculty Librarian position reports to the Systems and Discovery Librarian in Discovery and Digital Services. Their role will be to serve as product owner and manager of several repository systems at the Libraries, working with colleagues to enhance the usability, interoperability and sustainability of those systems. They will participate in professional activity and serve on library, university, and statewide committees and initiatives. This role will require close collaboration with colleagues at the Libraries and beyond.

Candidates will be considered at the rank of Librarian/Archivist I, II, III , or IV.
- To be considered at the level of Librarian/Archivist II, candidates must have 2 years of professional experience after completion of their master's degree in librarianship/information science, or 2 years of professional experience after completion of their terminal degree in a related field or 2 years of professional experience after completion of their master's degree in a subject area related to archival work as well as Academy of Certified Archivist certification.
- To be considered at the level of Librarian/Archivist III , candidates must have 5 years of professional experience after completion of their master's degree in librarianship/information science, or 5 years of professional experience after completion of their terminal degree in a related field, or 5 years of professional experience after completion of their master's degree in a subject area related to archival work as well as Academy of Certified Archivist certification

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
- Familiarity with Institutional Repositories (such as Esploro, DSpace, or Invenio), archives information management and discovery applications (preferably ArchivesSpace and ArcLight), and/or Digital Asset Management systems ( DAMS ) in a professional setting.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate technical information to a general audience and to interact effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Familiarity with content standards ( DACS ), metadata standards (Dublin Core), and format specifications ( EAD , MARC ) used in Libraries/Archives and their related repositories.
- Familiarity with scholars' needs and use of archival digital content and services.
- Familiarity with project management and/or implementation of new technologies.
- Familiarity with open-source products.
- Familiarity with Blacklight based products and/or Samvera components as well as working with their underlying technologies ( IIIF , Rails, etc.).

- Serve as the product owner/manager of several Libraries repository platforms, including the Libraries' archives information management and discovery applications (ArchivesSpace and ArcLight), Institutional Repository (Invenio hosted by TIND ), and journal publishing platform (Open Journals System).
- Serve as the primary liaison with Libraries colleagues outside of Discovery and Digital Services for matters regarding repository use, including troubleshooting, reporting, and general maintenance.
- Work with colleagues across the Libraries to help implement metadata and content selection policies including training Libraries' staff to work within the systems and auditing content as needed.
- Monitor repository platforms' performance and assist with documenting and refining workflows.
- Assist with managing the repository product lifecycle, including investigating and recommending new platforms.
- Collect statistics that measure usage.
- Work with User Experience Librarian and Libraries developers to improve the user experience of the software platforms and discoverability of content by researchers.
- Work with Libraries developers to identify and develop new system capabilities and provide additional services as needed.
- Represents the UGA Libraries in the ArchivesSpace user community.
- Fulfill faculty expectations for librarianship and service as required for promotion.
