Responsibilities

• Prioritize and coordinate the work activities of professional contracts reporting staff and provide work direction as needed.
• Interpret and communicate contract reporting statutes, procedures, and policies to departments, vendors and staff.
• Serve as a liaison to University departments on procurement matters.
• Assist the Director Financial Compliance in developing and implementing internal operating procedures and policies.
• Coordinate preparation and analysis of monthly and annual financial statements.
• Analyze financial accounting and performance data and summary reports.
• Perform cost analysis and produce management reports.
• Assist with audits by providing information and preparing supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance in contracts reporting via the Legislative Budget Board Contracts online database and the Texas Ethics Commission.
• Recommend changes and improvements to university procurement processes and systems and oversee departmental participation in development and testing of these improvements.
• Develop and oversee the provision of purchasing training for staff and campus departments.
• Develop financial and contract related compliance tools for internal department use and for conducting reviews of vendor performance.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practicalaspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline, orthe basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline.Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal,directly job-related, 4 year degree from a college or university oran equivalent in-depth specialized training program that isdirectly related to the type of work being performed.
