Job description

The Reporting Analyst is responsible for identifying, gathering, validating, and analyzing data from multiple internal and external sources to support SAMGI’s operational excellence and strategic decision‑making. This role prepares high‑quality reports and dashboards for client meetings, leadership discussions, board presentations, and internal performance reviews. The Reporting Analyst must have strong analytical skills, an understanding of medical and business data, and the ability to perform first‑level interpretation to identify trends, risks, or anomalies before reports are shared with key stakeholders. Expertise in Power BI, PowerPoint, and storytelling with data is essential.

This is a remote position.

Position Summary

As a Reporting Analyst, you will design and maintain data pipelines, develop executive‑level dashboards, and translate complex data into actionable insights that drive operational improvement across SAMGI’s programs.

Key Responsibilities
Data Collection & Preparation
  • Identify, request, and collect data from internal systems, hospital partners, external vendors, and third‑party sources.
  • Validate, clean, and prepare datasets for analysis, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Partner with IT, Clinical Operations, Finance, and Business Development to centralize dataflows and establish reliable data pipelines.
Reporting & Analytics
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, data models, and visuals that support operational and strategic reporting needs.
  • Develop presentation‑ready reports for leadership meetings, board discussions, client performance reviews, and program updates.
  • Summarize key findings through narratives, charts, tables, and visual storytelling to make complex information understandable and actionable.
  • Recommend visualization methods, layout, sequencing, and report design based on SAMGI branding and data best practices.
First‑Level Review & Quality Control
  • Perform initial analysis and sanity checks on all reports to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Identify trends, outliers, or areas of concern that may require attention or escalation prior to presentation.
  • Conduct reconciliation against source systems or historical reporting where needed.
  • Ensure all reports are consistent with SAMGI definitions, metrics, and accepted methodologies.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Operations, Clinical Leadership, Finance, Recruitment, and Business Development to understand reporting requirements and evolving data needs.
  • Support program launches, performance reviews, audits, and strategic planning meetings with accurate, timely insights.
  • Assist presenters (Leadership, VP of Operations, Medical Directors, etc.) by preparing slide decks, supporting documents, and talking points.
  • Serve as a resource for internal teams seeking guidance on metrics, data interpretation, and visual design.
Dataflow Understanding & Storytelling
  • Understand the lifecycle of data from intake to reporting, including sources, transformations, and business logic.
  • Make recommendations on how data should flow to improve reliability, automation, and long‑term scalability.
  • Apply storytelling principles to ensure reports clearly communicate “the why” behind the data.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting Planning
  • Meet regularly with key internal and external stakeholders to identify reporting needs, including program statistics, performance analysis, client‑facing presentations, leadership reviews, and board materials.
  • Translate stakeholder needs into clearly defined reporting requirements, metrics, and deliverables for each hospital program.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage a master reporting calendar that tracks report delivery dates, standing meetings, ad‑hoc requests, and presentation timelines across all programs and departments.
  • Coordinate report preparation and delivery to ensure deadlines are met and materials are aligned with the intended audience and meeting objectives.
  • Proactively anticipate upcoming reporting needs based on program cadence, contract requirements, and leadership priorities.
