Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare reporting using EHR systems such as Epic, NextGen, and athenahealth.
• Strong SQL skills, including joins, aggregations, subqueries, transformations, stored procedures, and validation; experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience developing Microsoft Power BI reports and dashboards, along with strong Excel skills in PivotTables, formulas, data analysis, and data manipulation.
• Experience reporting on laboratory and medication data, with understanding of patient, provider, encounter, diagnosis, procedure, scheduling, billing, reimbursement, and operational information.
• Working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems and their application to healthcare reporting and analysis.
• Ability to validate data, reconcile differences across source systems, investigate root causes, and deliver accurate reporting solutions.
• Ability to translate business questions into reporting requirements and explain findings clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities independently and collaboratively.
• Knowledge of HIPAA requirements and appropriate handling of PHI and confidential healthcare information.

Responsibilities

• Reporting and dashboard development: Develop and maintain clinical, operational, financial, reimbursement, auditing, and management reports.
• Data extraction and integration: Write and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and extraction processes.
• Clinical and coding analysis: Analyze patient populations, providers, encounters, diagnoses, procedures, laboratory results, and medication records.
• Business requirements and delivery: Partner with clinical, operational, billing, reimbursement, auditing, finance, and management teams to define reporting needs and acceptance criteria.
• Data quality and troubleshooting: Validate results, reconcile source-system differences, and investigate discrepancies in clinical, laboratory, medication, billing, reimbursement, and encounter data.
• Automation and standardization: Automate recurring reports and data-processing workflows, maintain consistent definitions.
• Quality and performance analytics: Identify trends in outcomes, utilization, cost of care, reimbursement, and operational performance.
• Documentation and change readiness: Document data sources, calculations, business rules, SQL logic, and reporting processes.
• Privacy and security: Protect confidential information and PHI per HIPAA and NANI requirements.
