The reporter should be comfortable covering all types of news, including local government, events, features, hard news, breaking news and more. The ideal candidate will be a self‑starter and a strong communicator, who is willing and able to get out in the community and make their presence felt.
An associate's or bachelor's degree in a journalism‑related field is recommended but not required. Writing experience is necessary.
The reporter will be expected to live in or near the community being covered.
