Job summary

The role offers visibility across Axios newsletters, TV appearances, podcasts, and social media, with a focus on audience-first, clear reporting in a fast-paced newsroom.

The big picture:Axios Pro Deals is the subscription service within Axios, a fast-growing media organization dedicated to providing trustworthy, award-winning news in an audience-first format. We're hiring an M&A reporter to showcase their expertise on this essential sector of the deals market.

Why it matters:Axios Pro Deals operates as a team of journalists focused on delivering the dealmaking community news that is essential to their jobs. We are looking for a talented, collaborative, experienced reporter to join this team and break news for our highly engaged, loyal audience.

• You should be obsessed with beating the competition on mergers, LBOs and hostile takeovers.You must be well sourced inside the banks, law firms, advisers and everywhere in the M&A world. You also need to have the expertise to clearly explain why it all matters to Axios readers.
• We will boost your profile on the beat through our unique audience, as well as through appearances in our national newsletters and as an expert on tv, radio, podcasts and social media.

Starting salary for this role is in the range of $100,000 - $130,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country. Because this is a remote-optional job posting, this salary range takes into account all possible locations within the United States, but candidates will only be eligible for the salary range for their location.
