Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking an on-site Plant Operator/Assistant to support stone processing operations at our North American facilities. You will monitor conveyors, screens and crushers, report issues, and assist in starting and stopping equipment while maintaining clean, safe work areas.

The role emphasizes mechanical aptitude, adherence to technical instructions, and safe practices around heavy machinery. Union benefits and regular site-based shifts are provided.

Responsibilities

• Start and shut down plant equipment; perform general clean up around the plant.
• Make minor repairs and adjustments; inspect and grease/lubricate plant equipment.
• Operate the plant proficiently and perform other duties as requested.

What You'll Be Doing

• To assist in the operation of the Stone processing plants.


• Responsible for checking conveyors, screens, and crushers; and reporting operating problems and oversize stone.


• Start and shut down plant equipment as necessary, and perform general clean up around the plant.


• Make minor repairs and adjustments, inspect and grease/lubricate plant equipment.


• Will be able to proficiently operate the plant. Will perform other miscellaneous duties as may be requested.

What We’re Looking For

• Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, climbing, and working in outdoor and indoor industrial environments

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre‑employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check

Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing

Work Environment

Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level

What We Offer

• Up to $35.91/hr. depending on level of experience
