Acosta, Inc. is seeking a Repair Technician - Production Film Camera to troubleshoot and repair Sony equipment, including professional camcorders and cinema gear. The role includes completing related administrative tasks such as data entry of evaluations and part numbers and finalizing work orders for assigned jobs.

The position is based at the Sony IPSA Service Center in Carson, CA. It is a full-time, on-site role with 40 hours/week and 7:00am-4:00pm shifts, offering paid training, benefits,

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on repair experience, preferably for professional photo/video gear.
• Experience in electronics repair for Sony equipment is desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics; proficient with test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic and camera products.
• Provide efficient service support to client products and meet customer demands.
• Maintain performance levels aligned with service metrics.
• Use dedicated testing and service equipment to evaluate issues.

The Repair Technician will troubleshoot and repair customer-owned Sony equipment focusing on the evaluation and repair of professional camcorders, ENG (Electronic News Gathering), and cinema, film, and production type equipment. The role also requires completion of related administrative tasks, which will include some data entry of evaluation findings and part numbers along with completion of work orders for assigned jobs.

Schedule & Location:

• 40 hours per week; 7:00am-4:00pm
• Sony IPSA Service Center at 2201 E Carson St, Carson, CA 90810

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic & camera products correctly
• Meet customer demands by providing efficient and responsive service support to client products

• Report and record keep product failures, trends, and serviceability

The Talent we are Seeking:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the hands-on repair and service of electronic equipment, preferably professional photo/video servicing
• Associate degree in electronics or with emphasis on electronic equipment a plus
• Proficient knowledge of digital and analog circuitry
• Knowledge and use of sophisticated test equipment in the repair process
• Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics
• Experience in precision soldering
• Demonstrated basic skills with precision hand tools and test equipment
• Knowledgeable of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures or willing to learn
• Good working knowledge of basic PC skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and standard software applications
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Motivated and goal oriented

Physical Requirements:

• Able to use a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment
• Must be mobile and able to sit and/or stand for four (4) hours
• Able to lift 35 lbs. from floor to chest level
• Basic understanding and ability to use various hand-held and power tools
• Smartphone with internet access/data plan
