Job summary

Transco Rail Services is seeking a Repair Technician in Texarkana, AR to perform basic railcar repairs on metal components, following layouts, work orders, blueprints and sketches. You will operate pneumatic/hydraulic tools, grinders, welders, torches, forklifts and cranes, while maintaining safety, quality and teamwork.

The role requires physical ability (lift 50 lbs), ability to work in adverse weather, and attendance in a collaborative shop environment. Drug screen and physical are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read specifications, shop drawings, schematics and blueprints.
• Experience with pneumatic/hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, forklifts and cranes.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic railcar repairs per layouts, work orders, blueprints and sketches.
• Repair parts of metal or other weldable materials in a TEAM environment.
• Maintain safe, clean and organized material areas; report hazards.
• Pass drug screen and physical as required.

You will be responsible for performing a variety of rail car repair related tasks and working in a TEAM environment, establishing good working relationships at all levels.Job Requirements:Use a variety of tools and equipment such as pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, forklifts, and cranes.Read specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints.Knowledgeable or willing to learn how to perform air brake test.The ability to work in adverse weather conditions.The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.The ability to lift 50 pounds with proper body mechanics.Ability to work within a teamwork environment with regular and predictable attendance.Keep materials area and other work areas clean and orderly and report potential hazards.Able to pass drug screen, physical.What We Offer:Transco strives to be the Employer of Choice.
