Job summary

Transco Rail Services is seeking a Repair Technician to perform basic railcar repairs in a TEAM environment. You will repair metal parts per layouts, orders, and blueprints, contributing to safe, reliable fleet maintenance across North America.

The role requires physical work (lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, and exposure to adverse weather) and demonstrates collaboration with colleagues to meet schedules. Drug screen and physical are required.

Qualifications

• Read specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Ability to perform air brake tests or willingness to learn.
• Physically capable of demanding tasks (lifting up to 50 lb, climbing, bending, etc).
• Ability to work in adverse weather and in a team with regular attendance.
• Able to pass drug screen and physical.

You will repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches. You will be responsible for performing a variety of rail car repair related tasks and working in a TEAM environment, establishing good working relationships at all levels.Job Requirements:Use a variety of tools and equipment such as pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, forklifts, and cranes.Read specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints.Knowledgeable or willing to learn how to perform air brake test.The ability to work in adverse weather conditions.The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.The ability to lift 50 pounds with proper body mechanics.Ability to work within a teamwork environment with regular and predictable attendance.Keep materials area and other work areas clean and orderly and report potential hazards.Able to pass drug screen, physical.What We Offer:Transco strives to be the Employer of Choice.
