The Repair Technician is responsible for repairing pontoon boats that will include painting and repairing fiberglass and aluminum parts, using various hand and power tools to make repairs in production that may arise from railing through final finish.

Essential Functions:

  • Utilize hand and power tools effectively
  • Utilize all systems for tracking rework(computer skills)
  • Utilize drawings and specs to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain safe work environment at all times
  • Follow all written and verbal work instructions
  • Keep work area clean and organized
  • Assist other team members when schedule and responsibilities allow
  • Effectively communicate with co-workers as needed
  • Seek positive solutions to issues and problems
  • Maintain a high standard of conduct and comply with company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to properly repair fiberglass
  • Ability to properly repair all painted surfaces.
  • Completed Yellow belt training preferred
  • Knowledge of job duties from railing through final preferred
  • Must be able to work in fast paced and changing environment
  • Knowledge of 5S and safety standards
  • Ability to use hand, power and air tools related to fiberglass and paint repair.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of procedures, instructions and documents as it relates to the quality system

Possess working knowledge of computer software applications along with strong record keeping abilities

The anticipated pay range for this position is $20-$28/hr., hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently standing and lifting heavy objects weighing 50 to 100 pounds. The employee is constantly walking, pushing/pulling, reaching, and climbing stairs. The employee is occasionally squatting, kneeling, and using fine hand movements such as tightening screws, bolts, and securing pins. Specific vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Environmental demands include working both indoors and outdoors and is seasonally exposed to extreme temperatures.
