Summary/Objective: 1st Shift: 5:30AM to 4:00 PM Monday-Thursday. This position requires performing routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes for passenger rail car parts in a manual manufacturing assembly line environment. The candidate works in a team environment participating in continuous improvement activities, as well as. Uses pneumatic tools, basic hand tools, and power tools (motorized drill, rivet gun, etc.). The candidate is required to perform versatile duties and is able to organize the areas around their own work place in a self-sufficient manner, within the product group.
The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms.

Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Perform necessary housekeeping duties in order to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
This position requires analytical skills and the ability to interpret information to take the appropriate action. Education and Experience: High School Diploma, GED, or experience/knowledge as determined by management in a production environment or equivalent business environment. Must possess basic Math skills and be able to comprehend varying units of measure. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, and take the initiative. Ability to understand and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics/drawings. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes. Ability to read, comprehend written and process specification documents.

The anticipated wage scale for candidates who will work in Watertown, NY is $21.21 per hour during training, and $22.71 after training. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. New York Air Brake is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations.
