Job summary

CEIA USA in Hudson, OH, is seeking a repair technician to provide service and customer support for security screening equipment. You will troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical/electronic devices, advise customers on operation procedures, and verify functionality of returned equipment.

This role requires a two-year technical degree or apprenticeship, 3–5 years in related fields, strong computer skills, and the ability to communicate effectively over the phone.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or apprenticeship or equivalent in a technical or military field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in electrical/electronic and mechanical fields.
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Experience speaking with clients via phone troubleshooting equipment.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic equipment and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment.
• Advise customers on operation procedures and system requirements.
• Communicate effectively over the phone to assist customers.
• Test and verify the functionality of equipment sent in for repair.
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
• Document processes and complete required documentation.
• Collaborate with technical team to resolve issues.
• Complete pre-sale upgrades and conversions as needed to meet orders.
• Evaluate refurbishments from demonstrations and rental activities.

The repair technician is responsible for providing service and customer support.

• Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment.
• Advises customer on operation procedures and requirement of systems.
• Communicates effectively over the phone to assist customers.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 2-Year Technical degree, apprenticeship program, or equivalent in a technical or military field.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional experience in electrical/electronic and mechanical fields or related professional position.
• Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office knowledge.
• Experience speaking with clients assisting them over the phone by troubleshooting equipment.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and equipment, including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.

Education, Experience, And Knowledge

• Two-year technical degree or apprenticeship program or equivalent in a technical or military field.
• 3 to 5 years of proven experience in the electrical/electronic and mechanical fields.
• Basic computer skills/MS Office knowledge.
