Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa is a premier luxury resort located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, serving guests with a world‑class hospitality experience.
We are seeking a Mid‑Level Maintenance Engineer (Level 2) to join our team as part of our Engineer/Facilities Maintenance department.
This role is critical to maintaining the operational effectiveness of resort facilities and ensuring a seamless, luxurious experience for guests and staff alike.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all mechanical items in guest rooms and public areas.
- Receive direction for house calls via radio and assist engineers and mechanics with repairs.
- Complete all assigned work orders and daily tasks.
- Operate systems such as telephone switch, guest and employee Internet networks, guest room door lock system, building automation system, and the Synergy work order system.
- Fill out daily work requests in Synergy.
- Perform preventive maintenance on laundry and kitchen equipment (cleaning and lubrication, filter changes, belt adjustment, etc.).
- Maintain daily shift logs of operation, maintenance, pool, spa, and safety activities; order necessary tools and equipment and maintain stock items.
- Understand and apply Omni fire alarm procedures and other emergency protocols.
- Maintain knowledge of Omni Hotel rules and regulations.
- Execute preventive maintenance responsibilities on all assigned guest rooms.
- Collaborate with team to keep back‑of‑house areas and equipment safe and functional.
- Follow engineering management direction on daily assignments or projects, completing tasks within specified time and standards.
- Interact with guests courteously and professionally, addressing maintenance‑related concerns promptly.
- Embrace learning and training opportunities.
- Apply Lock‑out/Tag‑out procedures, ensure safe handling of arc flash risks, and adhere to equipment safety precautions.
- Detect trends indicating developing issues and take appropriate action.
- Maintain engineering shops.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and problem‑solving skills.
- Basic skills in painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, lighting, and computer use.
- Professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
- Prior building maintenance experience and/or relevant technical training.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and trade tools.
- Knowledge of general maintenance and repairs in at least one building trade.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations.
- Physical ability to stand/walk, crawl, bend, reach, squat, kneel, and lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
- Availability to work AM, PM, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts; schedule varies with business and operational needs.
