Qualifications

  • High-volume apparel repairs experience.
  • Zipper replacement and patching skills.
  • Strong machine-sewing and hand-sewing abilities.
  • Experience operating industrial sewing machines, sergers, and heat tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Prioritize multiple repairs while meeting productivity targets.
  • Strong time-management and documentation skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; collaborate effectively with a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel for tracking.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Operate industrial sewing machines, sergers, button-press machines, and heat tools safely.
  • Use both machine and hand-sewing techniques to repair to brand standards.
  • Inspect repairs for quality, function and appearance; maintain repair records and provide progress updates.
  • Collaborate with Repair Center Supervisor and teammates to meet goals; contribute to training materials and tools.
  • Support circularity and sustainability initiatives through repair work.

What You Will Do

Location: Aurora, CO (on-site)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $21-$23 per hour

We’re looking for a Repair Center Specialist with experience in apparel repair, tailoring, alterations, sewing, or garment construction to join our team in Aurora, Colorado. Whether your background is as a tailor, seamstress, sewer, alterations specialist, apparel repair technician, or industrial sewing machine operator, you’ll use your technical skill, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities to repair outdoor apparel and gear to our quality standards. From replacing zippers and patching well-loved garments to operating industrial sewing equipment, your craftsmanship will directly support our commitment to durability, circularity, and reducing waste.

Repair Craftsmanship & Quality
  • Complete high-quality apparel repairs, garment alterations, zipper replacements, patching, and sewing repairs on outdoor apparel and gear
  • Operate industrial sewing machines, sergers, button-press machines, and heat tools safely and effectively
  • Use both machine and hand-sewing techniques to complete repairs according to brand standards
  • Inspect your work carefully to ensure repairs meet expectations for quality, function, and appearance
  • Maintain accurate repair records and provide regular progress updates
Repair Center Operations
  • Manage incoming repair work and organize your workload to support timely completion
  • Balance productivity expectations with the craftsmanship and attention each repair requires
  • Track repair activity and productivity accurately
  • Monitor supplies and equipment and communicate needs to the Repair Center Supervisor
  • Keep your workspace organized, safe, and ready for efficient work
Team Collaboration
  • Partner closely with the Repair Center Supervisor to meet team goals and deadlines
  • Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional partners to support a positive product-user experience
  • Help develop repair tutorials and resources that build consistency and shared skills across the team
  • Contribute to a supportive, respectful, and inclusive team environment
Circularity & Sustainability
  • Apply repair techniques that extend product life and help keep quality outdoor gear in use
  • Look for thoughtful, durable repair solutions that minimize unnecessary waste
  • Support Fenix Outdoor’s broader circularity and sustainability initiatives through your everyday work
You Bring
WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT
  • Previous experience completing high-volume apparel repairs, such as tailoring, alterations, seamstress/sewer work, garment construction, or similar high-volume sewing environment
  • Advanced garment repair skills, including zipper replacement and patching
  • Strong machine-sewing and hand-sewing skills
  • Experience operating industrial sewing machines, sergers, button-press machines, and high-heat tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality craftsmanship
  • The ability to organize and prioritize multiple repairs while meeting productivity expectations
  • Strong time-management, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team
  • Comfort using Microsoft Excel for basic tracking and reporting
  • The ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred (but Not Required)
  • Training or education in fashion, sewing, apparel construction, or a related field
