Job summary

Jefferson Health Plans is seeking a Patient Financial Representative at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. You will interview patients to arrange payment methods, monitor monthly payments and insurance claims, and post payments received by mail, while pursuing missing payments and denials.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in physician billing workflows such as charge entry, claims processing, and follow-up.

Job Description

Interviews patients to arrange methods of payment or extension of credit, notes decision in patient’s charts. Monitors monthly payments/collections, submits pre-authorizations, insurance claims, and monitors payments and accounts receivable. Registers inpatient consults. Pre-visit registration for copay collections and daily deposit of cash/check payments as well as entering insurance and patient’s payments received via mail. Pursues insurance missing payments and insurance denials.

This position requires providing service to an age population; young adults to older adults (18¬65+ yrs), in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.

This position requires providing service to the following age population(s) newborn to elderly in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.

Education/Training/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience in all phases of physician billing is required. Including but not limited to charge entry, claims processing, payment posting, and the appeal/resubmission process for rejections and follow-up.

Excellent organizational skills required.
