Job summary

Bay City Electric Works is seeking a Driver & Rental Technician in San Leandro, CA to deliver and manage rental equipment and to train customers on operation. The role combines driving with hands-on maintenance, with regular hours and on-call duties

The position requires 2–5 years in rental equipment or related fields, a CA driver’s license with Hazmat, and the ability to obtain CDL Class A within 1 year, along with forklift certification and strong customer relations.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in rental equipment or related technician experience.
• Experience with diesel or alternative fuel generators preferred.
• Valid California driver’s license with Hazmat endorsement; clean DOT record; able to obtain CDL Class A within 1 year.
• Experience towing trailers; forklift certification.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Excellent employee and customer relations skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety/operation manuals; proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Maintain rental equipment, fluids, tires, trailers; perform basic repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Deliver and pickup equipment; assist with loading/unloading in limited access areas.
• Prepare rental paperwork, verify safety data, train customers on operation; provide on-call support when needed.
