Job summary

Bay City Equipment Industries Inc is hiring an experienced Generator Technician for the San Leandro area. The role covers repairs, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance of industrial generators and related systems.

The position is non-exempt and hourly, with typical hours 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, and potential after-hours or weekend work. Compensation includes a competitive hourly wage and overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 18 months to 5 years generator experience, 500KW+ preferred.
• Knowledge of generator control systems required.
• Ability to read safety rules, manuals, and procedures.
• Willing to travel and attain appropriate licenses if needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to customers.
• Perform engine repairs and electrical troubleshooting using schematics.
• Repair and maintain generators of all sizes.
• Start-up new generator units with Project Management hand-off.
• Conduct load bank testing and document findings.
• Assist other technicians and train junior team members.
• Present information to customers on work performed and needed repairs.
