Job summary

Linder Industrial Machinery Company in West Columbia, SC is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Assistant to coordinate machine and attachment movements for our rental fleet.

You will handle daily inbound/outbound shipping; perform check-ins, inspections, photos, and documentation; ensure units are ready for rental; work with Service, Equipment Manager, and yard staff; and operate a tablet-based workflow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to operate a wide range of equipment.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Skilled at prioritizing tasks.
• Basic technical aptitude.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Must be able to work overtime on a regular basis.
• Able to climb on/off equipment and walk all day.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound movement of machines and attachments daily.
• Complete initial check-in: document hours/fuel, verify manual, take photos, note damage.
• Notify Service Department and Equipment Manager of any damage identified.
• Advise Equipment Manager of unit arrival with check-in details.
• Ensure unit is clean, safe, and rental ready; park in correct yard area.
• Complete check-out: verify equipment/serial against shipper, take photos, confirm manual/attachments.
• Assist/load for shipment.
• Use tablet for check-in/out; locate and store units.
• Identify status of each unit; conduct periodic yard checks; ensure RFID devices work.
• Provide information as requested; perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Job Summary:

Coordinate machine and attachment activity. Ensure rental fleet machines and attachments are capable of a safe and successful rental.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for coordinating and processing both inbound and outbound movement of machines and attachments on a daily basis.

Responsible for completion of initial check-in of machines and attachments to include –

• Documentation of machine hours and fuel level
• Verification unit’s manual is present
• Take pictures of each unit – noting obvious damage
• Notify Service Department and Equipment Manager immediately of any damage identified on a unit
• Advise Equipment Manager of unit arrival – provide check-in information
• Ensure unit is clean, safe and rental ready
• Park unit in appropriate area of the yard

Responsible for completion of check-out process to include –

• Verification of equipment/serial number against shipper
• Take pictures of each unit
• Confirm manual is present
• Confirm appropriate attachment(s) are included
• Assist/load for shipment

Utilize tablet for both check-in and check-out processes

• Locate and store machines and attachments in a neat and organized manner
• Responsible for identifying status of each unit
• Exercise each unit on the yard periodically
• Perform consignment inspections
• Responsible to ensure yard and tracking devices are present and working on each unit (RFID)
• Provide information when requested
• Other tasks as requested by management

Education/Experience/Skills:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Basic computer skills
