Job summary

TCI Transportation is seeking a dependable Rental Service Porter to support our busy fleet operations in Fontana, CA. You will prepare vehicles, assist with check-ins/outs, and help with parts delivery, shop and yard duties.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, with many opportunities to assist across departments and learn on the job. You’ll handle vehicle appearance, inspections, licensing support, data entry, and daily tasks while staying active and engaged in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Reliable, detail oriented and customer-focused.
• Good communication and basic computer skills.
• Able to multitask and work in a team.
• Willing to travel locally when needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare rental vehicles for customer pickup and return.
• Assist with daily rental vehicle check-ins/check-outs.
• Fuel, wash and maintain appearance of rental equipment.
• Inspect vehicles for damage, safety concerns and issues.
• Report defects or maintenance needs to management.
• Assist with vehicle licensing and documentation.
• Pickup/deliver parts to customers and TCI locations.
• Receive and check in parts from vendors.
• Obtain delivery receipts/signatures when required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized shop and yard.
• Perform fuel island inspections and keep records.
• Support rental, maintenance and parts teams with daily tasks.
• Adapt to different tasks; no two days are the same.

TCI Maintenance is hiring a Rental Service Porter to join our busy fleet operations team!

At TCI, our Rental Service Porters do more than move equipment. They play an important role in keeping our rental fleet ready for customers, supporting our parts department, and helping our shop operate efficiently.

WHAT WE OFFER

Pay: $19.00–$21.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–5:00 PM

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Rental Fleet & Vehicle Support

Prepare rental vehicles for customer pickup and return.

Assist with daily rental vehicle check-ins and check-outs.

Fuel, wash, and maintain the appearance of rental equipment.

Inspect vehicles for visible damage, safety concerns, and equipment issues.

Report defects, damage, accidents, or maintenance needs to management.

Assist with distributing vehicle licensing and documentation.

Parts Delivery & Warehouse Support

Pick up and deliver parts to customers and TCI locations.

Receive and check in parts from vendors.

Obtain delivery receipts and signatures when required.

Shop & Yard Support

Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and yard.

Perform fuel island inspections.

Assist with basic data entry and recordkeeping.

Support the rental, maintenance, and parts teams with additional daily tasks.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Required Qualifications

Valid driver’s license.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail.

Good customer service and communication skills.

Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new systems.

Ability to stay organized and manage multiple responsibilities.

Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

Willingness to work the required schedule and travel locally when necessary.

Experience That Will Make You Stand Out

Previous experience as a Service Porter, Lot Attendant, or Fleet Support Associate.

Parts delivery, warehouse, or inventory experience.

Experience working around commercial trucks or rental equipment.

Automotive dealership, transportation, or fleet maintenance experience.
