TCI Maintenance is seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Truck Service Writer to join our busy fleet maintenance team. You will coordinate repairs, keep customers informed, and help shop operations run smoothly.

As the primary contact for fleet customers, you will schedule maintenance, inspections, and repairs, coordinate vendors, and manage work orders with accuracy. This role emphasizes customer service, organization, and reliable recordkeeping to keep fleets moving.

Qualifications

• Previous Service Writer/Service Advisor experience in commercial truck repair, diesel maintenance, or fleet service.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organization, multitasking, and follow-through.
• Ability to coordinate multiple service requests in a fast-paced shop.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping.
• Comfortable using computers and service management software; Excel proficiency.
• Ability to work independently while supporting a team.

TCI Maintenance is looking for an experienced Heavy-Duty Truck Service Writer to join our busy fleet maintenance team!

Are you an organized, customer-focused professional who knows your way around a commercial truck repair shop? Do you enjoy coordinating repairs, keeping customers informed, and making sure shop operations run smoothly?

If you have experience as a Service Writer in the commercial trucking or fleet maintenance industry, WE WANT TO TALK TO YOU!

WHAT WE OFFER

Pay: $19.00–$24.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus quarterly incentives.

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

As a Heavy-Duty Truck Service Writer, you'll play a key role in keeping our shop organized, our technicians productive, and our customers informed.

Customer Service & Scheduling

• Serve as a primary point of contact for fleet maintenance customers.

• Coordinate preventative maintenance, inspections, and repair appointments.

• Communicate with customers regarding service schedules, equipment needs, and recommended repairs.

• Schedule outside vendors and coordinate replacement rental equipment when needed.

Shop Coordination & Work Orders

• Open, process, update, and close service work orders accurately.

• Coordinate service assignments with technicians and shop management.

• Review completed work orders and communicate additional repair needs.

• Maintain accurate service records and provide documentation to customers.

Fleet Maintenance & Compliance Tracking

• Monitor upcoming and overdue preventative maintenance and inspection requirements.

• Track BIT inspections and opacity testing schedules using Fusion and Excel.

• Assist with yard checks and verify equipment maintenance status.

• Prepare reports, track service deadlines, and follow up on outstanding work.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Qualifications

• Previous Service Writer or Service Advisor experience in a commercial truck repair, diesel maintenance, or fleet service environment.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Excellent organization, multitasking, and follow-through.

• Ability to coordinate multiple service requests in a fast-paced shop.

• Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping.

• Comfortable using computers, service management software, and Microsoft Excel.

• Ability to work independently while supporting a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of preventative maintenance schedules, DOT inspections, and commercial vehicle repair.

• Experience with fleet maintenance management systems, including Fusion.

• Familiarity with BIT inspections and opacity testing requirements.

• Experience coordinating repairs for commercial fleets, leasing operations, or rental equipment.
