Company Wrench in Parma, OH is seeking a dedicated Rental Prep Technician to check in/out rental equipment, photograph items, and maintain high quality standards across all gear.

You will perform minor repairs, prep for rentals and sales, install attachments, and keep precise records while following safety procedures. The role offers extensive training and a clear path for advancement within a family-owned company.

Qualifications

• Mechanical skills and aptitude.
• Good communication and safe work habits.
• Willingness to start early and stay late to finish a rental item.
• Two-year diesel engine or heavy equipment certificate, or 2+ years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check in/out rental equipment and document conditions.
• Take detailed pictures and prepare receiving/delivery reports.
• Paint touchups, bodywork, and clean equipment for rentals and sales.
• Install attachments and auxiliary kits for rentals/sales; service equipment.
• Perform PDI on new equipment and maintain records; keep workspace safe.
• Operate forklift and manage equipment inventory.

Company Wrench is the place for you to reach your career goals while providing the “Cutting Edge of Customer Service” to our valued customers.The Rental Prep Technician position is responsible for check in/out and minor repair and service of rental and sold equipment and attachments at the highest levels of quality and efficiency.Job DescriptionCheck in/out rental equipment and Take detailed pictures.Perform receiving and delivery reports with detailed notes of existing or new damage.Perform paint touchup and bodywork on equipment.Power wash, clean, and detail equipment and attachments for rentals & sales.Install attachments (coupler, thumb, shears, processors, etc.) for rentals & sales.Install Auxiliary hydraulic kits and cab guards on equipment.Service and minor repair of equipment, components, systems, and attachments.PDI New Equipment.Think ahead and plan methods and sequence of performing assigned duties.Research and order all parts and materials required to perform assigned tasks.Perform all duties efficiently and effectively.Ensure all unused parts and materials are returned per established methods.Maintain a safe and clean workspace.Operate forklift and heavy equipment.Take Inventory equipment and attachments.Record Keeping & ComplianceMaintain legible records of notes, time, parts, supplies, and outside purchases as needed.All record-keeping methods are followed per established methods. The 3 C’s (complaint, cause, and correction) are always used and documented with all repairs.Comply with all policies, procedures, and methods established by the company.Maintain and care for all shop tools, equipment, and vehicles in your possession.Job QualificationsMechanical skills and aptitudeGood communications skillsSafe work habitsAbility to start work early and stay late to finish work on a rental itemWorking knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functionsCandidates with a two-year diesel engine, heavy truck repair, or heavy equipment technical school certificate OR a minimum of two years of heavy equipment or heavy truck repair experience preferred.Good attitude, desire to learn, and mechanical mindset is required.Training is to be completed as assigned.Training will be conducted virtually and in-person. Overnight travel may be required.
