Job summary

Carter Machinery Company, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic Technician Advisor - Rental on the 1st shift in Sterling, VA. Starting compensation ranges from $38.36 to $48.22 per hour with a $1,500 sign-on bonus for new hires.

You will lead technicians, perform maintenance and emergency repairs, and help schedule and prioritize work orders in a fast-paced environment. The role requires strong mechanical skills, at least five years’ experience with heavy construction equipment, and excellent customer

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience with heavy construction equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; diagnose and repair equipment.
• Ability to lead and motivate employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and guidance to technicians on daily workloads and maintenance priorities to meet standards.
• Direct all activities in area in absence of Service Supervisor.
• Perform regular maintenance and emergency troubleshooting repairs.
• Monitor progress of jobs to keep on schedule and maintain workflow.
• Ensure service work is completed in order of priority.
• Identify training needs and schedule classes for area personnel.
• Gather information from SIS, CAT, WTY, DBS to aid diagnosis and warranty.
• Ensure technicians follow diagnostic procedures and complete warranty reports.
• Write service reports documenting diagnosis and repairs.
• Prepare work orders, parts lists, and time cards accurately.
• Review service reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Resolve issues with management and supervisory staff.
