Job summary

Fabick Cat Rentals is seeking an energetic Rental Inside Sales Representative to create a welcoming rental experience from initial inquiry to contract completion.

You will listen to customer needs, recommend equipment, prepare quotes, and collaborate with operations, service, and sales to ensure on-time delivery and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of customer-facing experience in service, hospitality, retail, sales, or related environment.
• Demonstrated service orientation: listens well, shows genuine care, and makes the experience easier.
• Polished, confident communication with ability to build trust across customers.
• Strong judgment, ownership, and problem solving when priorities change.
• Willingness to learn equipment knowledge and rental processes.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and follow through.
• Excellent phone, written, and in-person communication skills.
• Comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, professional experience for every customer in person, by phone, and electronically.
• Ask questions to understand customer needs, timing, and equipment requirements.
• Own customer requests and follow through to resolution or next steps.
• Recommend appropriate rental equipment and involve experts as needed.
• Prepare quotes and rental contracts; verify documentation and insurance.
• Coordinate with operations, service, sales, and other teams for availability and delivery.
• Address customer concerns with urgency and empathy while keeping them informed.
• Support in-store sales, inventory activities, and parts ordering when needed.
• Build knowledge of Fabick Cat Rentals equipment and stay updated on changes.
• Represent Fabick Cat Rentals with professionalism and accountability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Rental Inside Sales Representative is often the first impression customers have of Fabick Cat Rentals. This role creates a welcoming, professional rental experience by listening carefully, understanding what the customer is trying to accomplish, and helping connect them with the right equipment solution. The Rental Inside Sales Representative owns the customer experience from the initial inquiry through contract completion, combining genuine care, polished communication, sound judgment, and strong follow-through. Success requires a service-first mindset and the willingness to learn our equipment, systems, and rental processes.

Responsibilities:

• Create a warm, professional, and helpful experience for every customer in person, by phone, and electronically.
• Ask thoughtful questions to understand the customer, the job to be done, timing, and equipment needs.
• Take ownership of customer requests and follow through until the need is resolved or a clear next step is established.
• Recommend appropriate rental equipment based on customer needs and partner with branch resources when additional expertise is needed.
• Prepare quotes and rental contracts and ensure required documentation and insurance coverage are complete and accurate.
• Coordinate with operations, service, sales, and other teams to support equipment availability, delivery, pickup, and customer commitments.
• Respond to customer concerns with urgency, empathy, and a solution-oriented mindset while keeping the customer informed.
• Support in-store sales, equipment inventory activities, and parts ordering for rental equipment as needed.
• Build working knowledge of Fabick Cat Rentals equipment and stay current on changes, capabilities, and applications.
• Represent Fabick Cat Rentals with professionalism, accountability, and a genuine commitment to serving customers well.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Strong phone, written, and in-person communication skills.
• Comfort using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and business systems; accurate data entry required.
• Interest in building meaningful expertise and growing within the rental business over time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, bend, and stoop to perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
