Responsibilities include answering calls, confirming reservations, providing equipment information, logging transactions, assisting with loading/unloading, and supporting sales staff.

Qualifications

Job description

Best Line Equipment is currently seeking a motivated and customer-focused Rental Counter Specialist to join our team at our Keyport, NJ location. As a Rental Counter Specialist, you will be responsible for the oversight of rental contracts, coordinate equipment deliveries and pickups, monitor status of construction, industrial, and heavy rental equipment, as well as generating and closing rental contracts.

Rental Counter Specialists play a hands-on role in identifying and securing the proper construction, industrial and/or heavy equipment needs for our customers that range from homeowner to construction and industrial industry professionals. This position also provides support with local equipment deliveries that as needed, making it a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of customer service, equipment coordination, and hands-on work.

Job Overview:

• Answer incoming telephone calls from internal and external customers.
• Confirm reservations for customer will call and delivery orders, as well as pick-ups.
• Provide information to customers via telephone or face to face about rented equipment then locate and transfer equipment when necessary.
• Keep records of transactions such as, billing cycles for customers, logged pickups, calls for equipment and information on equipment transfers.
• Assist loading and/or unloading equipment for customers and drivers.
• Assist with local equipment deliveries as needed by operating a rollback truck or tractor-trailer.
• Support inside and outside sales personnel.
• Clerical and housekeeping responsibilities providing the store has a clean and representable image.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the ability to operate a rollback truck or tractor-trailer for local equipment deliveries as needed.
• Minimum of six months of relevant experience in a similar position with understanding of a wide range of construction equipment (i.e. Industrial, Aerial, Heavy, etc.).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with customers and fellow employees.
• Ability to assist with loading, unloading, and moving equipment as needed.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and customer-focused, with the ability to work in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

Wage Range: $25.00 - $29.00/hr. (depending upon experience)
