Description

Incorporated in 1955 and encompassing more than 454 acres, the Mt. Prospect Park District provides outstanding recreational programs, events, parks, facilities and services. With seven primary facilities and 27 neighborhood parks, the Park District is an integral part of a thriving multi-generational community. District open space includes two outdoor pools, biking and walking paths, a dog park and sizable space for outdoor athletic programming. The District covers over 11 square miles and serves a region of over a quarter million residents in Mount Prospect and surrounding communities.

The Mt. Prospect Park District is searching for a Rental Attendant responsible for setting up and overseeing facility rentals at our Friendship Park Conservatory. Rentals may include weddings, private parties, corporate and public events within the banquet room and outdoor courtyard/pavilion. Duties include setup of tables, chairs, rental items, garbage removal, cleanup, and working evenings and weekends.

This is a part-time position, averaging under 18 hours per week. Starting pay ranges from $16-$20/hour based on qualifications. Benefits include facility and programming usage. Candidates must pass a criminal background check.

Requirements

• Properly manage daily operations, including opening and closing the conservatory.
• Provide excellent customer service, build relationships with customers.
• Assist with rental events, setup, takedown, and maintain a clean facility.
• Maintain records of events and activities.
• Follow all relevant liquor laws and become B.A.S.S.E.T. certified within 7 days of hire; AED/CPR certification within 90 days.
• Manage cash drawers, deposits, and close-outs, resolving discrepancies.
• Recommend improvements and coordinate with the Rental and Event Planner.
• Provide information on programs, facilities, rentals, and events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors, including emergency tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or higher, with experience in recreation, facility management, customer service, or hospitality.
• Must obtain and maintain B.A.S.S.E.T. and AED/CPR certifications.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Reliable, with good judgment and ability to handle emergencies.
• Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and perform tasks involving walking, bending, and moving.
• Work hours include evenings and weekends, with exposure to indoor and outdoor conditions.
