Job summary

Hose Master, LLC in Sparks, NV seeks a Machinist to prepare parts for welding and fabrication. You will perform machining on mills, lathes, drill presses, and related equipment, ensuring tolerances and proper finishes.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, performing general maintenance, and moving materials with a forklift. A strong emphasis on safety and accuracy in a family-owned US-made manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
• Ability to read and understand all measuring devices.
• Strong math skills required.
• Ability to operate a lift truck.

Responsibilities

• Plan and select best method of machining to achieve desired tolerance, speed and finish.
• Perform calculation to form the work piece, calculate speed and feed.
• Select tools and materials for the job, plan the sequence of cutting and finishing operations, and mark the work piece to show where cuts should be made.
• Perform the necessary machining operations on various equipment such as a mill, lathe, drill press and or cutting equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Perform general maintenance.
• Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
• Use Forklift/Tow Motor to move shipments and material, load and unload stock trucks and machines, and/or change gas tanks.

Machinist is responsible for making parts ready for welding and fabrication. General machine repair of tooling and or fixtures. May also assist in trouble shooting of equipment issues that could be mechanical or electrical in nature.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; push/pull up to 70 pounds; transfer 50 - 100 pounds with the help of another person.
• Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
