Job summary

Eaton’s Reno facility is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic/Technician for the GEIS team on 2nd shift. Responsibilities include troubleshooting electronic and mechanical systems, repairing presses and drives, and installing PLCs, HMIs, and electrical controls.

Requires related education and experience, with emphasis on safety and NEC compliance. The role offers opportunities for hands-on fabrication, preventive maintenance, and collaboration with continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and one year maintenance experience OR a technical school diploma OR an Associate’s degree in electronics or commercial and industrial electrical systems
• Experience reading electrical/mechanical blueprints and schematics
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
• No relocation benefit; candidates within 50 miles of Reno, NV considered

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electronic and mechanical malfunctions on plant machines and systems
• Repair mechanical power presses, power transmission devices, conveyers and un-coilers
• Install and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFD drives, vision systems, MCCs and control circuits
• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment
• Inspect electrical systems to ensure NEC compliance
• Install electrical systems in industrial machinery following schematics and diagrams
• Fabricate devices and mechanisms to improve operation
• Operate lifts and perform fabrication tasks as needed
• Support LEAN and Continuous Improvement initiatives
